Awesome Fellowship

WOW, what a night!!! Last night at the PowerHouse (Wednesday, May 24) we had an awesome time of fellowship. We spent the whole evening just fellowshipping with each other. Act 2:42 tell us, to devote ourselves to the apostle's teaching and to the FELLOWSHIP, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. We did ALL of that last night. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Love One Another

Last night, (Wednesday, May 10) we talked about how we should love one another. We read a story about a girl name Hillary who was invited to a youth meeting. Although Hillary had a few friends at this youth meeting, she still felt very alone and even abandoned. You see, the friend who invited her stopped talking to her and the other members of the youth group did not make any effort to get to know her. Unfortunately, I believe that has happen in our youth group as well. So I aked the question, how can we prevent other "Hillary Moments" in our youth group? You said:
1. Make a point to talk to every new person who comes.
2. Find out what things you have in common with them.
3. When you see them at school, say hello to them.
4. Invite them back to youth group or a special event.

In our lesson time, I talked about 4 steps we need to take to Love One Another. They are:
1. Love One Another Selflessly - Think of other's happiness first - How do you do that?
You said ... You don't always have to be right, Share your resources with each other,
Be nice to everyone, Let your friends know that you will be there for them
2. Love One Another Sacrificially - Love has no limits, No demand is too great,
Love goes to the extremes
3. Love One Another Understandingly -
Our hearts must be big enough to love one another just as we are.
4. Love One Another Forgivingly - Without forgiveness love is bound to die

I challenge you to work at loving one another by taking these 4 steps.

Building Community

The next 3 weeks or so, we are going to talk about building community within our youth group and within your daily life. Jesus tells us in Matthew 25:40, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." Jesus is encouraging us to love, serve, and fellowship with one another. As a Christian, we need to have these 3 elements(Love, Service and Fellowship) at the forefront of our lives. So this is what we are going to focus on in the next couple of weeks:

1. Love One Another: John 13:34-35 - "A new command I give you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." On Wednesday, May 10, we are going to talk about loving one another.

2. Serve One Another: Matthew 20:28 - "Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." On Wednesday, May 17, we want to talk about how we can serve one another.

3. Followship with One Another: Acts 2:42 - "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." On Wednesday, May 24, we want to talk about what it means to fellowship with one another.

Let's be reminded why we do all of this; Corinthians 10:31.

Boy's All-Nighter

Girl's Sleep(Less) Over

Hey Girls, don't forget about the sleepover on Friday, April 21. It all gets started around 7:00 PM at my house (PC House) and it will be over around 9:00 AM on Saturday. You will need to bring your pillow and a sleeping bag. Janet Bolich and Kris Hamman have planned the evening so I am sure it will be a blast. So invite all your friends and come join the fun. PC

We have a great evening planned but it will not be complete without you and your friends. Paintball Information

Hey Gang, Here is all the information you need for this Saturday.
1. We are leaving from the Prince St. Church parking lot at 6:00 AM on Saturday morning. Please eat breakfast before you come because we will not be stopping on the way there.

2. We should be home around 5:00 PM. Please plan to to be picked up at that time.

3. Spending Money - We will be stopping for an snack on the way home, so you will need some money for that. Also, if you run out of paintballs when we are playing, you will have to buy extra. You will be given 600 paintballs to start the game. I suggest $40 should cover the cost of the day.

Take 5

2 - Minutes Reading the Bible: Spend 2 minutes reading your Bible. I suggest starting in the book of John or try the book of James. Either one would work.

2 - Minutes Praying: Remember, our prayers can be short and sweet. It's not about the words we are saying. It's about what is in your heart that counts. So pray - ACTS (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication)

1 - Minute Reflect: Take a minute and listen for God. He might be trying to tell you something.

As your relationship grows with God, your desire to spend more time with Him will grow as well.

So in Luke 12:34 it tells us that where your treasure is that is where your heart will be. So where is your heart? Do find yourself getting caught up in wanting the latest video game or x-box or something like that? Wednesday night we will be talking abour GREED and how it notonly effect your life but it can effect your walk with God.
